In Dean's Message - The engineering profession is moving dynamically and accelerating progressively as we start the twenty first century. The rapid and continuous development in engineering innovation and technologies has produced a more challenging work environment for engineers. The awareness of the Faculty of Engineering of the current and future needs of the UAE society as well as these new engineering challenges has led the College to plan ahead and adopt innovative engineering curricula suitable for preparing our students to effectively meet future professional needs as well as the rapid technological advances encountered worldwide.

This necessitates that a stronger emphasis must be placed on innovative teaching and learning methodologies. Therefore, under the guidance of H. H. Sheik Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the UAE University, the College developed state of the art curricula emphasizing analysis, design and hands-on experience for all students, with engineering concepts being taught up-front. The adopted teaching philosophy is based on collaborative teaching with emphasis on lifelong learning, self-learning, effective communication and teamwork.
