Research Faculty Positions Available

The college of Engineering seeks to establish research strength in Energy and Environment through cluster hiring commencing September 2009 and designed to build a team of faculty and associate researchers with complementary capabilities to address present and long-term regional and global needs. Research faculty hired will have an appointment in either the Architectural, Chemical and Petroleum, Civil and Environmental, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering departments for up to 5 years with initial support to develop their respective research areas within the United Arab Emirates University including support for graduate students, and are expected to generate support for their cluster areas through research funding from local, regional, and international companies and agencies.

Academic Field(s): Ideal candidates sought should be specialized in one of the following areas:

Carbon Management, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)
Photovoltaic Materials and Devices
Solar-Thermal and/or Hybrid Systems
Hydrogen Production and/or Fuel Cells
Energy Integration for Oil and Gas Processes
Energy Management and Green Buildings

Job Title: Research Professor or Associate professor

Department: Architectural, Chemical and Petroleum, Civil and Environmental, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate or full research professors with a demonstrated track record of leadership in research funding, publications, and graduate student supervision. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in one of the Engineering disciplines from an internationally recognized university. Successful candidates must also have the ability to lead scientific research at the university and teach effectively graduate courses.
